Minor Injuries Unit - Stamford Hospital

The Minor Injuries Unit (MIU) based within Stamford Hospital is open Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm, with one associate Specialist on duty plus two qualified nurses.  Three of our nurses have also undertaken further training in minor injuries and have qualified as Emergency Nurse Practitioners, they are able to assess and treat patients within Trust agreed protocols.

Within the department we are able to assess and treat a wide range of minor injuries ranging from lacerations to eye injuries to fractures.  Nursing staff have been trained and are skilled in the application of different types of plasters.  We also have access to the fracture clinic held in the outpatients department at Stamford Hospital.
