Accident and Emergency
The A&E department at Peterborough District Hospital currently sees approximately 57,800 patients a year - 13,000 of these are Paediatric attendances. It is also a first-line receiving hospital in the event of a major incident.
Medical staffing is provided under the direction of four A&E Consultants and a team of Sisters and Charge nurses under the direction of a Lead nurse. The department includes:
- Triage Room
- Resuscitation Room
- Majors area
- Minors area
- Observation Ward
Training is run to a very high standard with internal development programmes for all staff. The department also runs Internationally recognised courses - Trauma and Major Incident Management.
