The Medical / Surgical Outpatients Department operates at both Peterborough District Hospital and the Edith Cavell Hospital.
Clinics normally run between the hours of 08.30 – 18.00, Monday – Friday, where a large variety of medical and surgical consultants work.
The department is also able to offer minor surgical procedures, one stop clinics and nurse-led clinics. The department's nurses are both qualified nurses and healthcare assistants who work alongside the doctors to ensure the patient's journey is smooth, effective and efficient. In addition there is close collaboration with other healthcare professionals, as appropriate, including nurse specialists and dieticians.
We are also supported by other areas including Endoscopy, Radiology, Pathology, Physiotherapy, OT, Pharmacy. Outpatient services are of high quality care with National access to waiting time targets being met. Clinic templates are regularly reviewed for the benefit of patient access. We also offer the services of Phlebotomy and ECG recording at the Edith Cavell Hospital.
