Following a 12-week public consultation, the partnership behind the proposed new Stamford Hospital community venture is pleased to announce overwhelming public support for the project.
Nearly 1,600 people took part in the consultation and 98 per cent of respondents were supportive of a new joint management partnership with Stamford GPs. 96 per cent were supportive of a new Board of Governors for Stamford including community representatives and 95 per cent supported the idea of inviting other healthcare organisations onto the hospital site to create a healthcare campus.

Trust to unveil new Intensive Care Unit

Businesses needed for charity event

Members of staff at Peterborough and Stamford Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, have decided to organise a Summer Ball to raise money for charity following the huge success of last year’s Masked Ball, which was supported by local and national businesses.
Both civilian and MoD medical staff, who work at the Trust, are organising this year’s event and proceeds from the Ball will be divided between two charities – The Friends of Peterborough Hospitals, which buys essential equipment for patient care at the District and Edith Cavell hospitals - and the Royal Air Force and Dependants Disabled Holiday Trust.

Peterborough and Stamford Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is set to implement the next phase of its award-winning two-year Travel Options initiative.
Following on from the creation in August 2006 of a patient and visitor-only parking zone at the District Hospital to allow easier parking for patients and visitors during peak hours, from April this year there will be a further subsidy to keep the price of a ‘Megarider’ bus ticket to £6. Parking attendants will also be introduced at the Edith Cavell Hospital in the summer to alleviate the number of cars parking illegally, blocking ambulance and visitor access.

Nik joined the Trust on Monday, 26 February from his former role as Director of Planning and Performance Improvement and Interim Deputy Chief Executive at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
He has 20 years’ experience in the NHS and has held senior positions at South Tees Hospitals NHS Trust, the NHS Modernisation Agency of the Department of Health, George Eliot NHS Trust and Manor Hospital.
